ODE TO A QRT

Once there.was a rescue squad We'll call it "QRT"
They're called out to help anyone In any Emergency.

They started out as a funny group, Organization wasn't their game.
There was George and Harry, Mary and Claire, Fred, Ann, Tom and Charmaine.

On their first call, they botched the job, A simple car wreck it seems.
Fred lost the keys, Tom was late, And Charmaine couldn't find her jeans.

They finally got the old van started, The one they used for calls..
George was driving with Harry in back, Boy! This group's on the ball!!!

Now wait a minute, there's still a catch... Claire's missing and so is Ann. Their pagers ran down, the chargers didn't work, And Mary's running after the Van.

They got to the scene of the accident Lucky to find, I'm sure...
No one was hurt , the wreck was cleaned up. Will this group endure??

They called a town meeting that very night to hash over the day's happenings.They made some plans to improve the group, Among other important things.

An ambulance was purchased, Equipment and life saving stuff.
They all took an EMT Class. Now the group's really Tough!

The Fire Department was ready To try out all they knew.
Little did they ever guess They'd become a real crack crew!

The Fire Siren was blairing For all the town to hear.
The QRT's and EMT's Came running from far and near.

Mary drove the Ambulance With Tom and Ann in the rear.
George brought the fire truck right behind Lights and sirens for all to hear.

It was a car wreck, same as before. Two people were trapped inside.
But this fine team made up their minds, No one was going to die!!!

They washed down the gas and used the "Jaws" To pry them out of the car.C-collars, backboards, air splints and slings To the Ambulance, one and all!

Now this fine team knows a fact One we all need to learn.
With proper training and good equipment A Fine Name you will Earn!
